The winter chill is upon us, but that’s no reason not to introduce some eco swaps into your daily routine. Here are our five fave eco products for this winter:
Reusable Coffee Cup
There’s nothing better than a hot drink to warm your insides on those cold mornings. Curling your hands around a warm mug while you walk to work or watch the kids’ sport brings that moment of respite from the wind and cold. If you’re not a coffee drinker, then fill your cup with hot chocolate, tea or even soup! Switching to a reusable coffee cup is a small, easy change with a big environmental impact. Did you know most coffee cups aren’t recyclable and even compostable cups rarely end up being composted? So, best to take the reusable route and slide a coffee cup straight into your bag this winter.
Stainless Steel Lunch Box
Who doesn't love a big hearty winter meal straight out of the slow cooker? Or a yummy pasta bake. Whatever your flavour, leftovers make a great lunch the next day and there’s no better way to transport them than in a stainless steel lunch box. You can add sauces, fruit or treats to the box and voila, lunch is done. Your food will stay fresh and definitely won’t leak.
BUT, I hear you say, some days there are no leftovers and we can’t be bothered making a sanga, so takeaway is on the cards. You can still take the eco friendly high road and ask for your takeaway meal to be put straight into your lunchbox. Sushi rolls are our favourite lunch takeaway and fit perfectly into the stainless steel lunchbox.
Stainless Steel Drink Bottle
Keeping your fluid intake up over the cooler months can be challenging, but having a funky stainless steel drink bottle on hand will make the task a lot easier. Choosing stainless steel over plastic is another small change with huge impact - plastic bottles are in the top 3 items to be pulled out of the ocean. Stainless steel, on the other hand, is not only reusable but strong, durable, rust-resistant and recyclable.
Tip: if drinking cold water doesn’t appeal (and let’s face it, our double-wall insulation keeps drinks cold), try making a warm water and lemon infusion to sip on instead - hydration + the cleansing (and yummy) benefits of lemon = win win!

Silicone Baking Mat
On a cold and wet winter's day there’s nothing better than an afternoon spent in the kitchen. Nothing beats the warmth the oven brings and the smell of delicious goodies filling the home. To make it an eco friendly bake off, you can’t go past a silicone baking mat. Perfect for lining baking trays, loaf tins or even the quiche dish. You’ll never need to buy baking paper again.
Our absolute go-to recipe is Banana and Raspberry Bread, which we bake in a loaf tin using our baking mat. To find our more about this amazing product, read our article Your Guide to the Silicone Baking Mat
Nothing says cosy like a candle. Whether it’s on the mantle, on the dining table or in the bathroom while you have a bath, candles scream luxury. We have three beautiful fragrances (which you can buy as a candle bundle) – Sandalwood & Orange is the perfect scent for autumn and winter, Lime & Coconut if you’re missing summer, or Lemongrass which is clean and invigorating. Handmade in Melbourne with pure essential oils, these candles are non-toxic and come in a matte white, round tin with a lid that you can reuse (of course!).
So, there you have it - winter’s looking a whole lot toastier, right? These five eco friendly products will keep you warm, cosy and waste-free this winter. Plus, every swap will have a positive impact on our environment. It’s those small daily actions that add up to big results.
